The City of Avon Park, Florida, requests proposals for professional services from firms or individuals qualified and experienced in providing Information Technology Services including the purchase, installation, implementation and maintenance of such systems.

For purpose of the RPF and your organizations proposal, assume an initial term of two years, with possible mutually agreed upon two (2), two (2) year extensions.

Scope of Services:
The City is seeking services to perform technical work involving overall network design, engineering, evaluation, installation, testing, upgrading and maintaining City networks and network operating systems.
This includes local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), IP telephone network, intranet, internet, wireless and other data communications systems.
Implements and monitors daily backup and restoration functions, virus protection, network security, general user maintenance procedures, network printing and software licenses.
Organize and coordinate the activities associated with selection, installation, deployment and upgrade of application software and technology.
Work directly with the departments to deal with specific needs of each department.
Create and implement a City –wide network for information sharing, transfer and data access for more effective use of information and data among management, and City departments.
Reduce cost of services by utilizing technology that improves the delivery, efficiency and responsiveness of services to our citizens.

Requirements:
Knowledge of microcomputers, server hardware and operating systems.
Experience installing and upgrading server hardware and operating systems is required.
Experience with TCP/IP protocol in and LAN/WAN environment is required.
Experience in troubleshooting data communications equipment which may include but not limited to routers, bridges, switches, modems, access points, hubs, Ethernet networks, T-1 and frame relay.

Ability to meet job demands under stressful situations, (i.e. program conversion deadlines, program/data recoveries from hardware failures, maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts and reason valid conclusions.
